Please note the School has undertaken a review of expenditure relating to the private bus service. The $315 per term charge has been in place since 2017 and requires revision due to increased costs associated with the service. Accordingly, the private bus charge will be amended to $330 per term commencing Term 3.
We are mindful of the current economic conditions and have made a concerted effort to limit the increase to 5%.

This year, Year 11 chose to raise money for Landing Pad, an initiative of Loreto Sister Monica Suchiang with the support of Mary Ward International Australia to end period poverty in India.
We welcomed visitors from St Lucy’s for a day full of fun with many wonderful, energetic stalls available!
Some of the stalls at Loreto Day that we liked a lot were the Kendall Escape Room and Kendall Kiosk, Maye Fairy Floss and Sliders and Lucky Ducky game, Mornane Photo Booth and Pizza, and the Kuring-gai nachos. But there were many other wonderful stalls as well. All the stalls were run by Year 11 except for the Primary Bake Sale run by Year 6. We got to play and have fun for the whole day, visiting the stalls and buying or playing games almost every minute!
Before the end of the day, we had a sausage sizzle lunch, followed by the Loreto Day concert. All the performances were very entertaining. Girls from all years performed; even Primary performed! Yes, we cannot forget that!
All the money fundraised is going to the Kolkata Mary Ward Social Centre to support girls without sanitary items for when they have their period. We hope that all the money helps girls in need and that it will change their lives to better ones and increase their health so they can go back to school.
Congratulations to all our winners for our Loreto Day Raffle Raising funds for Landing Pad an initiative of Loreto Sister Monica Suchiang with the support of Mary Ward International Australia to end period poverty in India.
On Monday, 5 June, Charlotte Hudson, the Senior School Ecology Captain, joined the Justice Crew to celebrate World Environment Day. Together they created watercolour artworks to show their appreciation for our beautiful natural environment. These artworks are on display in the Primary Quad.
On Tuesday, Year 6 had our Bush to Bowl incursion. Someone from Bush to Bowl came to Loreto and talked about Australia's native plants, their growing conditions, and how we can use them. A lot of these plants were like the normal plants that we use in our everyday lives, except they had a lot more vitamins compared to the same quantity than things we may buy from the shops. For example, a mint bush oregano leaf has a much stronger flavour in each individual leaf so you don’t need as much. We really enjoyed learning about the different recipes and how to eat the plants in a particular way. - Murphy and Ella

In Science, Year 6 have been learning about native bush tucker so this week we had an incursion where the company Bush to Bowl visited our school. In this incursion, we learnt about some of the native plants in our Loreto garden and what their uses are. We think that the bush tucker incursion was a very fun experience. Bush tucker is sustainable as it suits our climate which means that the plants are easier to maintain. Most people don’t know about bush tucker plants and don’t buy them for that reason.
Some of the native plants were used to make weapons and home decorations while others were used to make medicine. Some of the plants that they told us about can be used for many things in our daily lives. A lot of these plants can be used for making soaps, food, and drinks. Bush to Bowl shared with us the recipes of how to make bliss balls using cinnamon myrtle. - Mikayla and Isabella

Wrap with Love is a great opportunity for Year 5-12 to contribute to the local and wider community and can be done at school. You will be knitting squares to create blankets for the millions of people in the world suffering extreme cold. Twenty-eight assembled squares create one whole warm and sheltering 'Wrap' for those in need. If you do not know how to knit, that is okay, we can teach you and you can learn from your peers.
When: Every Tuesday at lunch in Term 2 & 3
