A Lasting Legacy - The Geri Thomas Memorial Fund

The Geri Thomas Memorial Fund—a lasting tribute to a man who dedicated his life to empowering young people.

It is with deep and heartfelt sadness that we mark the passing of Geri Thomas—a beloved educator, inspiring mentor, and treasured friend. Geri’s unwavering commitment to Nottingham High School and its students has left an enduring legacy that will be felt for generations.

In honour of Geri’s remarkable life and service, and thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor, we are beginning the work to establish The Geri Thomas Memorial Fund—a lasting tribute to a man who dedicated his life to empowering young people.

The fund will be designed to create meaningful opportunities for students that reflect the values Geri championed throughout his life: education, character, leadership, service, and community. This fund is not yet fully formed—but with your support, we will build it into something that carries forward Geri’s vision and impact.

Geri’s contributions to Nottingham High School were truly transformative. He launched the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, mentored generations of students, and played a key role in the development of major facilities like the Sports Hall. His influence helped shape not just the School, but the wider community around it.

Through The Geri Thomas Memorial Fund, his spirit—marked by generosity, ambition, and a deep belief in the potential of young people—will continue to live on and inspire future generations.
